Stephen Louis Edwards, the father of audio coma therapy technology, was first introduced to the plight of coma victims and their families when he was asked by a well-known New England artist if he would go to the care facility where his daughter was in a coma. The daughter was in an automobile accident months prior to that and had been in a coma since. Stephen, who has been a professional musician most of his life, among other occupations, was glad to do this for his friend. He went the next day to see the teenaged girl, spending about an hour playing his guitar and singing for her. When finished, after depositing his guitar into the trunk of his car, he got into the driver's seat and proceeded to cry realizing the hopelessness of this girl's situation. The next day, after going back and playing for her again, he broke down in tears again. The helplessness of this situation has haunted him since. He continually thought of this girl for years.

About 2003, he was again faced with another coma victim. This time, his friend Dennis Haney, went into a coma after falling down a long set of stairs hitting his head at the bottom. Stephen heard about the accident a few days later and went to visit Dennis, not realizing his friend was in a coma. He sat with him for hours and prayed for his recovery. A couple days passed, and Dennis was still in a coma. One afternoon, his doctor came into his hospital room and Stephen asked the doctor if he could bring in some sound equipment, headphones and a microphone into the hospital room. This was an idea that had come to Stephen while praying for his friend. The doctor replied that was fine, but there was little to no chance that Dennis would recover from his coma. He stated that it was a virtually hopeless situation, however, no harm could be done by these actions.

Stephen's Theory

Computers are designed around logic systems and when a computer crashes, the only thing you can do is reformat it to get it going again. Stephen saw a coma as a human computer crash.

Stephen thought that being in a coma must be like being under water in that you cannot clearly hear what is going on on the surface. Stephen had worked at Gold Star recording studio and A&M recording studio, both in California, as a recording engineer. With his sound engineering experience, he felt that his only chance for a connection with a coma victim was to use headphones on their ears. His rationale being that this was similar to connecting a cable to a USB port on a computer, thus transmitting data.

First Attempt at Audio Coma Therapy

After being given approval from Dennis' doctor, Stephen brought in a sound mixer, microphone and headphones. He then began speaking to Dennis through the microphone informing him that he was in a coma and that someone was there to help him recover. He provided instructions and prayed with him for hours until totally exhausted.

Development of the CD

After returning home that day, Stephen realized that his time would be much better spent creating a CD that would do the same thing that he did that day with Dennis. Stephen developed instructional techniques using the latest in scientific principals combined with proven faith healing techniques to develop this CD, which was copyrighted in 2004. This is the very same CD given to the family of Randall McCloy, sole survivor of the Sago Mine Disaster of January 2, 2006, where twelve miners were killed. His recovery a few days later was said to be a "miracle" by his doctors, and it was!

Please, if you have a loved one in a coma, do not wait any longer. Active Hope wants to help you help your loved one by sending you this CD. This CD can be used with a portable CD player and headphones. It can be put on continuous play for long periods of time, increasing length of therapy, thus greatly improving chances of recovery. There are no conclusive studies of sleep/awake cycles of coma victims, therefore the longer the CD is played, the better the chances of the coma patient hearing the audio coma therapy.
